Welcome to this year's Mansion House Scholars

8 Mansion House Scholars have now started their studies at prestige UK universities for 2016/17 having been appointed by the Late Lord Mayor, Lord Mountevans, during his overseas visits in his year of office as Lord Mayor of London.

Here are the eight scholars with the Late Lord Mayor and the Secretary Neill O'Connor at the Mansion House in the City of London attending the City Banquet on 26th October 2016.  We wish them a happy and successful stay in the UK.

The Mansion House Scholarship Scheme was founded in 1997 when Sir Richard Nichols, then Lord Mayor in the City of London, was particularly impressed during his overseas visits by the high regard in which the City is held by foreign business communities and by the number of students who wished to study in the UK in schools and colleges through business attachments, executive exchanges, and management training.  The Alumni of well over 100 Mansion House Scholars now come from 46 countries.  The Worshipful Company of International Bankers supports the scheme financially and assigns a mentor to each student for his or her year in the UK.

Scholarships have been made available to overseas students taking Masters level degree courses at British Universities or for training and work experience in the United Kingdom's financial services industry. The training generally takes place in London, but is flexible depending on requirements. For further information see the Mansion House Scholarship Scheme website.
