Aims

The central purposes of the Company emulate the evolution of the original purposes of the Livery Companies and Guilds; namely fellowship, charity, education and the promotion of trades and professions.

Fellowship

We provide:

A forum for like-minded professionals from all facets of the international financial services community.

Members with a focal point for participation in the City's traditions.

Support for affiliated Armed and cadet forces, Lord Mayor and fellow Livery Companies.

A comprehensive programme of events for members, active involvement in City Affairs and maintaining links with affiliated service units.

Outcome: Ensuring a growing and contributing membership.

 
 

Charity

We support:

Funding for charities active in educational and financial literacy.

Funding disadvantaged for a clear and measurable impact.

City of London and financial services linked charitable activities.

Typical donations and awards are up to £1000, larger awards considered where funding can make a clear difference in accordance with Company aims.

Outcome: Lives changed and good causes supported with members' money.

Education

We provide:

Commitment to pupils and staff at schools in need of encouragement.

Support to fill financial gaps in educational provision.

Promotion of values and ethics of our Company to students and pupils.

Delivered through member's direct involvement with schools and other educational establishments, limited number of bursaries and through working with partner organisations.

Outcome: Raising standards of financial literacy and changing lives through education.



Promoting the Profession

We aim:

To advance understanding of role of City institutions.

To provide initiatives which positively support the banking profession and the City.

To encourage high ethical and professional standards to members of the profession.

Achieved directly through member's efforts and in partnership with other organizations as well as organizing the Lombard Prize.

Outcome: Positive view of the role of City institutions and promoting high ethical standards for our industry.
