WCIB Guildhall Banquet 27th February 2018
The evening will start at 6:30pm with a sparkling wine reception in the Old Library of the Guildhall before being called to dinner at 7:15pm for the banquet in the Great Hall. The Master, Wardens and VIP guests will process into dinner. The formal dinner will conclude after speeches by 10:30pm and a Stirrup Cup will be offered in the Old Library until 11:00pm.
Cost £125 per ticket.
Dress: Black tie with orders and decorations.
This is a prestigious event in the City and Company calendar and is an excellent opportunity to meet fellow members as well as to introduce the WCIB to your guests. There is no limit on the number of guests members may bring, please note that seating is either side of long tables, please let the Clerk know of any seating requests or dietary requirements.
The principal guest for the evening will be Jayne Anne Gadhia the CEO of Virgin Money.
A Chartered Accountant, she spent six years at Norwich Union (now Aviva) before becoming one of the founders of Virgin Direct in 1995.
In 1998 she set up the Virgin One account which was acquired by the Royal Bank of Scotland in 2001. After five years at RBS as part of the Retail executive Committee, she returned to Virgin as the CEO of Virgin Money.
In 2012 Virgin Money acquired Northern Rock and, in 2014, successfully listed on the London Stock Exchange.
As a committed supporter of the Prince’s Charities, Jayne-Anne is Business in the Community’s UK Business Ambassador and Chair of the Dumfries House.
In November 2016 Jayne-Anne was announced as the government’s Women in Finance Champion.
Married with one teenage daughter, Jayne Anne lives in Edinburgh.
