Ke Ma was born in China in 1994. She was introduced to piano at the age of three by her grandfather and father, and quickly reached an accomplished level; at five years old she won second prize at the prestigious Xiwangbei piano competition in Beijing. Ke has won several prizes, including the Harriet Cohen Bach Prize, the Harold Craxton Prize and the Masie Lewis Young Artists Fund. In 2015, she won the Shenzhen International Piano Concerto Competition in China and later received the Prince’s Award from the Worshipful Musicians’ Company. Having performed as a soloist with many different orchestras and conductors, later this year Ke was invited to perform with the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra under the baton of James Blair. Having received her Master's degree at the Royal Academy of Music, Ke Ma is currently carrying out her doctoral study under the guidance of Dr. Alexander Soares, Rolf Hind and Professor Joan Havill at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Booking and Viewing is free of charge. But on behalf of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, we would be grateful for a donation towards their hardship fund, which is given directly to the students who during this pandemic are unable to earn income through performing or employment. The College are unable to support all those students in need with their existing pot of funds. On making your booking, a link will be sent to you prior to the event.
