Supporting our Community

Join us in supporting charitable causes and making a difference to the lives of those in need. Together, we can create a better future for all.

Transforming Lives

The Worshipful Company of International Bankers is committed to making a positive difference to its community (City of London, Greater London and the UK). Through our five relationship charities (The Brokerage, ShareFound, ClementJames Centre, School Home Support and Uprising), we provide finance and mentoring to disadvantaged young people to support their education, financial literacy, employability and raising their aspirations.

Recognising Financial Excellence

Our awards programmes and prizes encourage excellence in financial services. Our Essay Prize and Debating competition, on topics relevant to the City, enable Year 12 students to demonstrate their financial literacy and develop life skills. Our WCIB Prize is awarded to the top performer in a finance programme from over 20 Business Schools around the UK, with the winners competing for the prestigious Lombard Prize.

Supporting the City of London

As one of 111 livery companies, we support the Lord Mayor and the City of London in creating a City that is inclusive, healthy, skilled and fair – A Better City for All.

What our partners say

We are pleased to have received support and funding from WCIB for over 20 years, working together on a number of initiatives, including the annual schools essay competition. Most recently the WCIB have made a donation of £50,000 towards the Pathways to the City programme, supporting young people on their career journey.

Sarah Devonport

CEO, The Brokerage

We very much appreciate WCIB's support in bringing the programme to as many young people in care as possible. Incentivised learning has proved to be particularly effective for young people in care, and we look forward to working actively with WCIB members to deliver its benefits.

Gavin Oldham OBE

Chair of Trustees, The Share Foundation

Since 2017, our partnership with the WCIB has greatly enriched our ability to support vulnerable families on matters of Economic Well-Being (EWB). After consultations, trials and training we created a dedicated EWB Coordinator post and a toolkit for our practitioners to use to deliver comprehensive information to service users.
