The Lord Mayor Peter Estlin chose the bold and optimistic theme of The Connected City for his year in office. It is a message he has carried around the world, and used to emphasise the role that London can and will play in the future.

But is the world going in the opposite direction? Are connected cities swimming against a world-wide tide creating isolation and barriers? If connectivity is to be at the heart of the 4th Industrial Revolution and the engine for the 21st century, how does it fight against the walls being thrown up by demands for sovereignty and security?

Tickets cover the event and reception drinks and canapes. Any surplus funds will be donated to The Brokerage (, a charity which creates access to jobs in professional and financial services for disadvantaged young Londoners.  The Brokerage is a partner charity of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers.
