During the interview Tim speaks about his career in finance spanning over 25 years and the changing attitudes towards the LGBT+ community.
For the first evening of Mental Health Awareness Week 2021 on Monday 10th May 2021 our Immediate Past Master Karina Robinson hosted keynote speakers Poppy Jaman OBE, Chief Executive Officer of the City Mental Health Alliance as well as Mental Health lecturer Andrew Barker from the University of Hull.

On the evening of 9th February 2021, the WCIB hosted its first virtual Cross Mentoring on Zoom with over 35 attendees, which fitted into Master's annual theme "Freeman, Liveryman, Master". Our distinguished mentors for the evening included Master Robert Merrett, IPM Karina Robinson, Liveryman David Blanc and Court Assistant Simon Hills.
Common Hall is the annual meeting of the Company's Liverymen when they hear about developments in the Company from the Master and others and have the opportunity to ask questions and air their views. A Common Hall took place by Zoom on 1st February 2021 to replace the original event planned for 7th October 2020 which had to be cancelled because of the pandemic.
The WCIB Schools Essay Competition is run every year in conjunction with social mobility charity The Brokerage We are delighted to announce the winners of the 2020 competition. The competition subject was “You are setting up a brand new bank. What would be your vision for the Bank’s Mission and Strategy?”
The ESG debate has begun. Organisations are looking at how to score well in the ESG rankings but are ESG a driver for change? The Worshipful Company of Information Technologists invited WCIB Court Assistant Jenny Knott to join a panel to debate and anser key questions.
On 20th January as part of the series "Freeman, Liveryman, Master”, the Master invited two Past Masters, Jane Platt CBE (WCIB’s first female Master – 2013) and Angus MacLennan (Master in 2007 and 2012) to speak about their successful careers, their experiences as Master and to give their insights on what the future holds for the City.
The Commanding Officer of WCIB's affiliated military Reserve Unit 306 Hospital Support Regiment (306 HSR) Colonel Kelvin Wright VR RAMC (picture left) invited the Master to make a presentation on 28th November to 306 HSR as part of one of its regular virtual training days.
