The Worshipful Company of International Bankers is a vibrant livery company that brings together established and emerging leaders in the international banking and financial services industry.
Our Team
The Company is run by the Master’s Committee, which acts as an executive committee, making policy recommendations to the Court. The Master’s Committee usually consists of the Master and Wardens, Immediate Past Master, three or four Past Masters and the seven Chairmen of the Standing Committees.
A non-executive director on the boards of Vanquis Banking Group plc, Arbuthnot Banking Group plc and Encore Inc., Angela is also the Chair of Pool Re, the UK’s terrorist damage re-insurer.
Head of Treasury, Europe, Asia & Australia for CIBC, Nick is a respected Treasury professional and has held similar senior roles with international responsibilities at LCH, Jefferies, Cantor, and Nordea.
With a background in debt capital markets, Tim a senior executive (SMF) at Bank of China UK, UK Chair of ICMA, adviser to xUnlocked and NPL Markets, Hon President of 16(F) ATC Sqdn, lecturer and contributor to ‘The Banker’.
Founder of the Contrarian Prize, Ali is Global Lead of Infrastructure Sponsor Coverage at ING, Vice President of CPRE, an LBC presenter and a House DJ performing around the world.
As WCIB’s Chief Executive, Carole is responsible for the efficient running of the Company. She’s also Secretary of our charitable trust.
A Partner at diversified Financial Services company Mariana UFP, Jago chairs our Associates Committee which specifically represents members under the age of 35.
Specialising in Corporate Cash Management, Trade Finance and Investor Services, Peter trains for multinationals and international banks and is Deputy Chair of Governors at Newham Collegiate Sixth Form Centre.
As a CMO and Strategy Director, Alison helps grow businesses in FinTech, cybersecurity, and insurance.
A fixed Income professional with 17+ years of experience working for Reuters, Refinitiv and London Stock Exchange, Irina has recently been directing the flagship indices for the Convertible Bond Market and developing innovative Corporate and Sovereign Fixed Income Indices.
A leading innovator in digital asset technologies, Jenny holds several Non-Executive Board roles for purpose-led companies including the British Business Bank and she is an advisor to a number of businesses and charities.
The current Chair of the Liveryman’s Committee, James is also the Military affiliation lead and serves as a Court Assistant.
CEO of the trade association PIMFA, Liz champions the private client wealth management, investment services and advice sectors and has over 30 years’ experience in the FS industry.

Learn about our history
The first Trade Guilds were formed as early as the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. Loans, documentation and mortgages were being arranged by international financiers including Templars, Jews (e.g. Old Jewry) and Lombardians (e.g. Lombard Street).
Freedom of the City widened
The truly diverse international nature of the City’s Financial Services business could be extended to citizens from every nationality.
Full Livery status granted
The Guild of International Bankers, by then boasting an annual membership of around 500 members, became the 106th Livery Company in the City of London.
Royal Charter granted
In September, the livery was granted a Royal Charter as the Worshipful Company of International Bankers.
Sole trusteeship of the charitable trust
The Company became the sole trustee of the International Bankers Charitable Trust, a charity registered with the Charity Commisison for England and Wales, reg no 1087630.

Progression through the Company
The Company structure remains much the same as it has been for centuries for all liveries. On joining, a new member becomes a Freeman of the Company. After two years, and after Freedom of the City has been awarded, a member can become a Liveryman, a full member.
Liverymen may serve as chairs of the standing committees, apply for election to Court and further advancement to be Wardens and Master.

Progression through the Company
The Company is established by Royal Charter and is registered at Companies House with the number RC000821. Its structure remains much the same as it has been for centuries for all liveries.
Freeman of the City
On joining, a new member becomes a Freeman of the Company. After two years, and after Freedom of the City has been applied for and granted, a member can become a Liveryman, a full member.
Liveryman
Liverymen may serve as chairmen of the standing committees, apply for election to Court and further advancement to be Wardens and Master.
Committees
There are seven standing committees: Communications, Events, Finance, Fundraising, Charity, Membership and the Liveryman’s Committee. There is one non-Standing Committee, the Associates Committee, which co-ordinates activites for the members of the Company under the age of 35.
Court
The Court is the governing body which consists of a Master, Senior Warden (also known as the Deputy Master), Middle and Junior Wardens and a number of Past Masters and Liverymen; the Court usually meets four times a year. The Court of Assistants also elects/appoints Liverymen to the Court of Assistants.
Wardens
The Court is the governing body which consists of a Master, Senior Warden (also known as the Deputy Master), Middle and Junior Wardens and a number of Past Masters and Liverymen; the Court usually meets four times a year. The Court of Assistants also elects/appoints Liverymen to the Court of Assistants.
Master
The Master is elected annually in late June or early July by the Court of Assistants at the Election Court and is normally chosen from the Wardens in order of the Wardens’ seniority.
