Annual Banquet at the Mansion House

The Master and Wardens hope you and your guests will join them to celebrate our most prestigious event of the year, our Annual Banquet.
Once again we are privileged to hold this event at the Mansion House in the magnificent Egyptian Hall. And we hope very much this will be in the presence of the Lord Mayor, the Lady Mayoress and the Sheriffs.
We are delighted that our guest speaker this year will be WCIB member and life-long banker Marshall Bailey OBE CFA, Chair of the Board of Governors of the CFA Institute.

Dress: Black tie (men), long dresses (women) or mess kit.

If you need to cancel, refunds (minus Eventbrite’s non-refundable booking fee) will be given until noon on February 10. After this date, no refunds can be made.
If the event sells out, a waiting list will be in operation.

PLEASE NOTE: The starter will be smoked salmon and the main course chicken. As usual, there will be vegetarian options for both starter and main course. While the new caterers at the Mansion House will accommodate allergies and special requirements (eg halal, fruit for dessert), they will add an additional charge of £18 if a special meal is requested (eg fish for main course, cheese and biscuits instead of dessert).
About Marshall Bailey OBE CFA
Marshall has had a 35-year career in banking. He currently serves as Chair of the Board of Governors of the CFA Institute, supporting their mission for high standards in investment management and banking. He cares passionately about good decision-making, financial literacy, market stability and confidence, and trust in the sector. In June 2018 he was honoured as an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his contribution to financial services and services to charity.
He has been Chair of various banking entities, including MUFG Securities EMEA, MUS(Asia) in Hong Kong, and CIBC World Markets. He has served on boards as a representative of the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) on the board of National Commercial Bank, Jeddah, where he Chaired the Group Risk Committee (announcing a $15 billion merger with Samba Financial Group). Also, as Group Chairman, he completed the consolidation of of LCH Group Holdings, the world’s largest derivatives central clearing house, while on the Board of its parent, the London Stock Exchange Group (during their $27 billion acquisition of Refinitiv). Additionally, in the insurance industry he served as non-executive Director and Chair of the Risk Committee of Chubb Insurance Group Europe (as part of the Ace Insurance £20 bln acquisition), and very briefly Chair of the Board of Aon UK.
Committed to public service, he supports a range of activities in financial literacy. Also, he has served Her Majesty’s Treasury as an Independent Director on the board of UK Financial Investments Ltd (UKFI), the government body overseeing the UK ownership of banking assets after the 2007/8 financial crisis. And most recently, as Chair of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, as appointed by the FCA and Bank of England.
Marshall holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Winnipeg, a Master of Arts in International Affairs and History from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
